NAS Server
I recently turned an old computer I got from my grandma into a fully functional home server and NAS (Network Attached Storage). What started as a dusty old PC ended up becoming one of the most useful pieces of tech I own.
The Hardware: The computer was a bit outdated — an older CPU, 4GB RAM, and a couple of 2TB of data I aquired from a family friend. I gave it a factory reset and installed a clean Linux Ubuntu OS.
NAS Setup: I set up a basic Ubuntu server so all my devices on the local network could access shared folders. To utilize port forwarding I used tailscale to access my server from anywhere in the world.
